Holly Wilmeth - Taller Fotografía / San Miguel de Allende

Holly Wilmeth will be teaching a 5 day “Portraiture in Natural Light” photo workshop in San Miguel de Allende, from Monday July 18th through the 22nd.

This exciting workshop will be a five-day photographic exploration into portraiture taken in natural light. It will include fieldwork, visual examples of the instructor´s portraits, constructive critique and discussions, as well as a model shoot and will close with a student collective exhibit showing the best works taken during the course.

Casting aside expensive lighting and equipment, Holly will focus on teaching you how to rely on nothing more than your skill, composition, and San Miguel ´s gorgeous available natural light for taking beautiful portraits. It ´s important to understand that photography is essentially the capture of light, as this will be the premise of the workshop.

To complement the portraiture sessions, students will also go over basic Photoshop techniques such as processing Raw files, curves, etc., as well as image filing. Holly will give constructive critiques of work shot throughout the week in order to better the student's technique and portfolio. The workshop will culminate with a slide show of participant work during which one image will be chosen to become part of a student collective exhibition at ArtPrint.

This workshop will include an opening cocktail reception where the students will have the opportunity of sharing their new art work with the local community. The exhibited work will be available for purchase, allowing the students a complete creative process, starting with production and ending with an exhibition.

Space is limited, a 50% deposit is required to reserve a space.
