• Recognizing the phenomena of visual and sensory perception in the con text of art and design.
• Using the appropriate terminology of visual language and critical analysis of images.
• Recognizing the connections between the elements of visual language in the context of presentation and interior design.
• Using the basic tools and techniques of art and design.

570-DB3-AS TECHNICAL DRAWING I
Targeted skills:
• Mastering the technical vocabulary of drawing.
• Using and handling drawing instruments.
• Producing technical drawings: plans, sections, elevation drawings and isometric views using imperial and metric measurement.
• Becoming familiar with reading and interpreting dimensions, scales and graphic symbols.

• Understanding how AutoCAD works.
• Drawing and editing in AutoCAD.

Targeted skills:
• Understanding the various mixing possibilities based on the primary colours.
• Using colour and applying it effectively.
• Mastering the appropriate terminology for describing various chromatic phenomena.
• Taking advantage of the expressive aspects of colour with personalized harmonies.
• Perceiving and communicating meaningful and emotional content through the use of colour.
• Using and handling the various colouring materials effectively (gouache, watercolour, pastel), as well as the tools and media used in colour processing.

570-DE3-AS COMPUTER OPERATING SYSTEM
Targeted skills:
• Understanding how computers function.
• Drawing with Photoshop.
• Handling the drawing tools in the Illustrator program.
• Using the basic functions of PowerPoint.

Software used*: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and PowerPoint

570-DF4-AS MATERIALS AND FINISHES
Targeted skills:
• Knowing how to use the elements of interior design – the materials commonly used by interior designers in residential and commercial buildings.
• Understanding the importance of materials based on performance criteria.
• Knowing the various techniques related to these materials.
• Mastering the calculation methods related to each family of products, knowing how to assess costs and drawing up a preliminary estimate for the materials.
• Developing an interest in constantly searching for new things; the student must begin establishing his or her own library of materials by contacting suppliers and applying an information classification methodology.

570-DJ4-AS ARCHITECTURAL DRAWING I
Targeted skills:
• Producing graphical drawing: conventions, symbols, scales, sections, lettering, written notes.
• Using the graphical vocabulary of preliminary and working drawings.
• Becoming familiar with interior architectural and structural elements (partitions, walls, windows, doors, mouldings, stairs, etc.), including the
details and estimates of interior finishing.
• Acquiring a basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as heat and sound insulation.
• Acquiring the basic concepts of wooden residential construction.
• Acquiring good habits with regard to layout plans.
• Becoming familiar with the constraints and standards in place that regulate the construction industry.

Targeted skills:
• Learning to plan and organize 2D drawings in order to prepare them for 3D modelling.
• Learning the various instruments (3D surfaces, 3D solids, extrusions, extruded surfaces, ruled surfaces, etc.) that are used in modelling.
• Learning how to visualize and present 3D models.

• Planning appropriate spaces for a work environment.
• Choosing furniture that suits the various individual functions of an office layout, according to the principles of ergonomics and anthropometry.

• Choosing the right materials and finishes to create a corporate image.

570-DM3-AS HISTORY OF STYLES AND INTERIOR DESIGN I
Targeted skills:
• Understanding the role played by interior design in Western civilization.
• Identifying the socio-cultural and artistic contribution of various cultures in the history of styles.
• Recognizing the various interior design styles.
• Developing a comparative knowledge of various styles and aesthetics and identifying their principal characteristics.
• Recognizing the various factors that influence the development of the form-function relationship in the furniture and layout of interior space.
• Understanding and using the specific vocabulary of interior design.

570-DN4-AS FURNITURE DESIGN AND PRODUCTION I

• Using the vocabulary related to furniture and its graphical language.
• Observing furniture and its components, as well as the potential assembly of the parts.
• Drawing furniture in orthogonal view with the sections and the details required for their manufacture as well as the materials used.
• Distinguishing the component elements of furniture (base, apron, top, drawers, doors, crosspieces, frame, gliders, etc.), and also recognizing the various construction materials and specialized hardware.
• Understanding the elements of ergonomics and anthropometry.
