Descripción

You’ll have access to the finest and most inspiring, practising teachers and mentors. You’ll be able to participate in taught sessions at university, observe the best classroom practice, and receive individual mentoring through all of your placements.

Suitable for high calibre graduates, this programme is 12 months full-time. It includes 120 placement days across early years settings along with a two week school placement in Key Stage 1. You’ll attend University regularly for training in addition to work-based training which will be supported by a mentor.

This route is suitable for you, if you fit either of the following criteria:
• You’re already employed in an early years setting/early years department of a school
• You’re newly recruited to an early years setting to undertake Early Years ITT through an employment based route
Through the 12 months part-time programme you’ll develop your professional skills and knowledge to lead learning of all young children.
You’ll spend significant amounts of time practicing in your work setting. You’ll need to exhibit the capability to teach across the age range; consequently additional placements will be tailored to meet your individual needs. You’ll have between six and eleven weeks away from your base setting, depending on your previous experience.
Course assessment
In order to be recommended for Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS), you’ll need to undertake assignments which assess your knowledge and understanding relating to teaching and learning. You’ll need to demonstrate your understanding and skills in planning, teaching, assessing and evaluating children's learning. All assessments will demonstrate that you have met the (Early Years)Teachers' Standards.

Bath Spa Early Years Teachers go on to gain employment in various fields asides from teaching, including; lecturing, advisory positions, teacher training, administration, schools inspections and educational outreach. Bath Spa Early Years Teachers go on to have diverse, challenging and fulfilling careers within the wide ranging educational landscape.

Requisitos: In order to apply for Early Years Initial Teacher Training you’ll need: GCSE passes at grade C or above (or recognised equivalents) in English, mathematics and a science subject. (in the case of graduate routes) a good UK honours degree (or equivalent qualification) in any subject. You need to have achieved a second class honours degree at 2.2 or above. Candidates with a third class honours degree or ordinary degree may also be considered. To have passed the professional skills tests in literacy and numeracy prior to entry.

Course length: Graduate Entry (Mainstream) is 12 months full-time. Graduate Entry (Employment-based) is 12 months part-time.
