This Build your own MA (BYOMA) short course will enable you to examine and evaluate the use of science in professional journalism and current trends in the industry. You will be encouraged to reflect on the science-related skills needed by journalists and to expand your own. This knowledge can then be applied to your own creative and/or professional practice.
You will develop an in-depth critical understanding of science journalism and key issues in the context of current practice; the ability to appraise both science journalism and science publishing and research; and to analyse and reflect upon the impact of digital technology on science journalism.

Course details Integral to our courses is the belief that people improve their professional practice by taking time out to reflect on and reassess what they currently do in the workplace and by sharing their real life experiences with the other like minded professionals. As a result each course is unique and geared to the experiences of the individuals that are participating, which may result in the course content altering slightly from course to course.
