The IMOS focuses on oral surgery techniques and provides students with basic and advanced oral surgery skills. The aim of this programme is to be a comprehensive complement for dentists focused on oral surgery. After graduating from the IMOS, students should be able to manage complex oral surgery and implantology clinical cases. IMOS students will, during three consecutive years, receive a high level of theoretical and practical training in the diagnosis, treatment planning and surgical management of oral surgical pathology. They will also achieve advanced research skills. In the field of implant dentistry, the IMOS will not only cover surgical aspects, but also pre- surgical planning, prosthetic guided surgery and rehabilitation.

PRACTICAL PROGRAM
Our model of learning is based in the high academic training of our students. Therefore, clinical practice on patients is essential for training high level expertise. What makes a great difference within our Postgraduate courses is the Clinical Practice on Patients. Surgery Clinical Practice at CUO (Universitary Clinical of Dentistry) Prosthodontics Clinical Practice at CUO (Universitary Clinical of Dentistry) The prosthodontic laboratory. Hospital practice. Stages in other Universities.
The practical program includes the activity in the Oral Surgery Department, Prostodontic Department and Periodontic Department in the University Clinic, as well prostodontic laboratory activity on Monday afternoons. Finally, internships will take place in medical centers outside of the university, on Monday mornings and Tuesday mornings, during the second and third year of the master degree. Do to the collaboration of the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya with European and American universities, the alumni of the second and third year will have the possibility to visit other departments in national and international universities.
The practical activity on surgery in the university clinic will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, for the lasting of the program. The postgraduate students will perform all the oral surgical treatments and surgical implant treatment under the supervision of a professor of the master. Initially, during the first year of the program the student will help and assist the second and third year students. Later on, they will start performing easy surgical cases, with the collaboration of a more experienced student and always under the professor supervision. In accordance to the individual evolutions of the learning curve of each student, they will be allowed to treat more advanced cases.
The prosthodontic practices will be carried out on Friday mornings during the third year of the program, in order to use them for pre-surgical planning in all the implant cases and this way achieve a good knowledge on prosthodontic rehabilitation in dental implant treatments. The prosthodontic laboratory: during the first year of the program the students will go to the lab on Monday’s afternoons to learn the basic procedure to create the implant reteined dentadure...

HOSPITAL PRACTICE
The student of second and third year of the program will go to external medical centers on Monday and Tuesday mornings. This activity will provide the alumni a hospital experience and the possibility to learn the oral surgery from a hospital point of view.
