Imagine diving into the beautiful turquoise-blue Caribbean, and later diving into the Spanish language! We have put together a Spanish language/scuba diving package in the tropical paradise of Cancun, Mexico. This package allows you to learn Spanish while at the same time discovering the beauty of its undersea world. We have programs for certified divers and beginner divers.

Spanish & Scuba for Beginner Divers

Earn your PADI certification in the mornings, and take small-group Spanish classes in the afternoons!

The PADI open water course is the first certification course in the world and your certification card is valid for the rest of your life, allowing you to dive in all dive centers all over the world.

Scuba Cancun has highly-qualified instructors who can give you the PADI open water diver course in four or five days. The course includes: theory, pool practice, equipment during the course, four ocean dives, and written exams (very simple, multiple choice), log book, PADI Open Water Diver Manual and transportation to and from the marina.

To scuba dive safely, you must not be extremely overweight or out of condition. If you take medication, consult your doctor and the instructor before participating in the program.

Schedule & Cost:

Mornings, Monday - Saturday, flexible hours:

  • PADI certification training with Scuba Cancun (approximately 30 hours over 5 days).

  • Cost for PADI Certification: $462 usd (subject to change)

Afternoons, 4 - 7 p.m., Monday - Friday:

  • Small-group Spanish classes at the Cancun Spanish Language Institute.

Spanish & Scuba for Certified Divers

If you are a certified diver, you can put together an program of dive excursions and Spanish classes with a private tutor on a flexible schedule.

We recommend taking 10 - 15 hours of Spanish instruction with a private tutor on a flexible schedule that works around the various dive excursions you choose.

You may choose as many dive trips as you like. All of these dives require Professional Scuba Certification (CMAS - PADI - NAUI - SSI). You must present your Certification ID at check-in.

Registration

Step 1: Confirm your flight and lodging. We strongly recommend that you wait until your flight and lodging reservations are confirmed prior to booking your dive trips due to the tour operator's strict cancellation policies.

NOTE: Scuba diving exposes your lungs to a high pressure environment, whereas airplane travel is a low pressure environment. Your lungs undergo a dramatic change in pressure when going between these two extremes. The bigger the change in pressure the greater the risk for arterial gas embolism. The best thing you can do to avoid this is to leave at least a 24 hour period between diving and your flight.
